Jaco & Tacos – A Must Stop in Costa Rica

DSCN2639The town of Jaco was a stop we made for lunch on our way from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio. It’s a coastal town big on surfing that gave us a beautiful preview of what the beaches of Manuel Antonio would be like.

After walking along the beach, and checking out some shops, we headed to the Tacobar, which we heard a lot about. It did not disappoint! Tacobar has an awesome beach town vibe with outdoor eating. One feature is you can sit in a swing while you eat; how cool is that? It has an awesome selection of all sorts of food, but most importantly the tacos that come with an endless topping bar. We went with Mahi and some other fresh fish, and they were the best tacos we’ve ever had. We’re definitely heading straight to the Tacobar next time we’re in the area.

We also heard that Jaco has a great night life, as there are many bars along the main road. It’s a cool place to stop for lunch, get a surf lesson, or to spend a night along your way down the coast.
