We stayed at Oregon Dunes since it was a good halfway point between Redwood National Park and Portland, Oregon. After some beautiful views of the Oregon Coast, we arrived here later in the day with enough time to check out the dunes and set up camp before nightfall. It’s a cool place for families, having something more than your typical drive up campground. The campsite attendant was very friendly, and there’s a small town in short driving distance with a supermarket and liquor store.
I wasn’t expecting much of the Oregon Dunes since it was more of just a place to sleep for the night rather than a “must-see” place, however, they were impressive and their vastness offered a nice perspective and view.
While walking around we spotted pieces of cardboard left from people attempting to sled down the dunes. I was tempted to try; Pat had enough fun just running down them. 🙂
